Plastic recycling equipment by process stage
- Plastic shredders reduce bulky scrap, film, pipes and rigid plastic before further processing.
- Plastic granulators and crushers cut material into smaller flakes or regrind.
- Washing systems combine appropriate cleaning stages for contaminated film, bottles and rigid waste.
- Separation equipment removes suitable light, heavy and metallic contaminants at different points in the process.
- Drying equipment removes moisture after washing.
- Plastic pelletizers melt prepared feedstock and produce recycled pellets.
Match machinery to your material
A PET bottle washing line and a PP or PE film recycling line require different equipment arrangements. Rigid HDPE containers also create different feeding and washing demands from lightweight film. When planning a new installation, consider the interfaces between stages. The output size from a shredder affects granulator feeding; washing conditions influence drying; and the condition of the dried material affects pelletizing. An equipment list should therefore describe a connected process, including material handling and water treatment where required.
