A plastic recycling machine price depends on the material, capacity and equipment included. Buyers ask us for a budget before they ask for a quotation. The ranges below are the figures we publish in our guides; they are typical equipment investments for new Amstar lines and depend on capacity, input material, automation level and the washing and water-treatment configuration. Shipping, installation and local electrical work are extra.

What Moves the Price
- Capacity. Throughput sets motor sizes, rotor and chamber dimensions, tank volumes and conveyor lengths; a 2,000 kg/h line is not simply two 1,000 kg/h lines.
- Input material. Dirty post-consumer film needs more washing, friction and drying stages than clean post-industrial regrind; pipes and lumps need heavier shredders than bottles.
- Washing and water. Hot washing, number of friction washers, sink-float tanks and a water-treatment system add cost but decide flake quality and water consumption.
- Build and components. Blade steel, bearing and motor brands, control cabinet and automation level explain most of the difference between two shredders of the same size — see why similar plastic shredders have such different prices.
- Output. Regrind, washed flakes or pellets: each extra stage (pelletizer, dryer, filtration) adds equipment.
